L Before We Knew Of LL

Before we started hearing about LL Cool J there was El DeBarge. El DeBarge is one of those artists that you really watched because he is just that good. A second generation of musicians from the DeBarge family SWITCH was a group his older brother Bobby DeBarge sang in and were really successful in the late 70's and early 80's until Bobby's untimely death. Guys and the ladies watched this cat and saw that although Michael and Prince dominated the charts back in the day, he seemed to eek some type existence in the business. I'm ashamed to say this but I am a year behind in my El update.

I do remember his release of 'Second Chances' but for some freak of a reason I never gave his latest work a listen. This saddens me because today, while paying bills with my sister I heard this song. At first i thought and would have sworn it was Mary Mary, since they did release a brand new project. But when I shazamed the song playing boy was I surprised. I even tried to convince my sister that it was Mary Mary. But even she had begun to say "I think that's El..."

Shazam gave me the shock of my life. And when I say about a song it is because if I didn't find out who it was by would keep me up ALL NIGHT wondering who it sang if. Thank you El. And I hope you all of the success and recovery needed to be back with your fans. I have been following you since you brother, Bobby, was alive and singing with SWITCH. But I will tell how I miss this hit, I was stuck in a genre and I do not listen to radio anymore. Check this one out folks. It is a keeper and a hit, and I could not have picked a better duet partner than the lovely Faith Evans. How time passes by…
